Find Your Lucky Feng Shui Directions

Importance of Feng Shui Directions

According to Feng Shui masters, if you sleep, sit or work by facing your lucky directions, and make your front door face those auspicious directions, you would be blessed with good luck in attracting more money, achieving success in career, health condition, personal relationship or personal development.

To determine which Feng Shui directions are auspicious to you, you need to find out your Kua number (Gua Number) first which is calculated by your date of birth (mainly birth year) and gender. After knowing this, you could find out your best direction and apply these auspicious directions to your home or office to boost your luck in wealth, health, love and personal growth.

Relationship between the Eight Directions and Kua Numbers

As we all know, there are eight directions. In Feng Shui, they are divided into two groups: East Group and West Group in which each direction has a corresponding Kua number (Gua Number).
East Group: 1 (North), 3 (East), 4 (Southeast), 9 (South);
West Group: 2 (Southwest), 5 (male Southwest, female Northeast), 6 (Northwest), 7 (West), 8 (Northeast)

The people who belongs to the East group should avoid the directions in the West group and those in West group should avoid the directions in the East group. The directions in his same group are all lucky ones.

How to Calculate Feng Shui Kua Number?

Kua Number for Male:
1. Add the last two numbers of your year of birth. If it's 0, use 10 instead.
2. Then, subtract 1 from the number you get if you were born before the Chinese Lunar New Year. (Simply use the Chinese calendar to check if your birthday is before the New Year). If were born after the Chinese Lunar New Year, just skip this step and go on.
3. As the result needs a single digit, if you already got a single digit, go to the next step. If it contains two numbers, you need to add the numbers you get together.
4. If you were born before 2000, subtract the single digit you get from 10. If you were born after 2000, subtract the single digit from 9. If the result is a double digit, then add the digits to get a single digit number. Then you get your Kua number finally.

Kua Number for Female:
If not, you need to add the two digits together to get.
4. If you were born before 2000, add 5 to the single digit. If you were born after 2000, add 6 instead. If the result is a double digit, then add the digits to get a single digit number. Now, you get your Kua number finally.

Take a man born in 01/16/1982 for an example. The formula is:
● 8+2=10
● As the Chinese New Year of 1982 started from Jan. 25, 1982, his birthdate is before the New Year: 10-1 = 9
● 10-9=1
Result: 1 is the Kua number for the man.

Feng Shui Bed Placement (0 Reply ) Asked by V***n

If you have to chose, is it better to place the bed underneath a window or facing a direction that is unfavorable to you according to Gut/Kua number? For example, Northeast is a favorable direction for Kua number 7 but has a window in that bedroom wall and Southeast is NOT favorable for Kua number 7. Which direction is better for bed placement if these are your choices? Thanks!

Bed direction and Kua Number (0 Reply ) Asked by V***n

Hi! According to your bedroom feng shui guidelines, someone born in the Autumn should sleep in the South or Southeast directions. Is that still true if the person is born in the Autumn with Kua Number of 7, where South is Five Ghosts and South East is Six Killings? I would assume that a person with a Kua Number of 7 should not sleep facing North, South, South East or East because those directions are bad for them.

New House Front Door (1 Reply ) Asked by V***n

Hi! I am looking into buying a new home and I have a few questions about front door feng shui. 1) I am year of a female 1974 year of the Tiger and my Kua number is 7, so a property with a South (6 Killing) facing front door will not be favorable for me. However, I found this property with a South-facing front door and a West (favorable - personal growth) facing garage door and alternate exit. Is it OK for me to live in such a house if I never use the front door and only use the garage for entering and exiting the house? 2) If I am to move within the next few months, what days are favorable for me in December 2022 and January 2023? Thank you so much for your advice! Noreen

Bed placement (0 Reply ) Asked by C***y

My room is square, unsure which placement would be better my kua number should be 9, 4 walls consists of se, sw, nw, ne. But my sw walls have windows along the wall, bedroom door is ne. So I left se and nw walls, if placing bed head against the wall on se the door would be on my right align with the bedhead which is deemed as bad in feng shui? And if the headboard is against the nw wall its actually a toilet behind the walls, where would be the best position to place the headboard against which wall? Thank you in advance
