Need help on auspicious wedding dates
Asked by P***6 |
Hi. I need help to identify auspicious wedding dates and time for a 2027 wedding. Groom’s birthday is April 18, 1990. Bride’s birthday is February 16, 1990. I’m planning to also have a wedding motif with different shades of green like olive green, sage green and moss green. Want to know if the colors are ok or if there are other colors that should be considered.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Choosing an auspicious date based on the Chinese calendar and planning a harmonious theme are both joyful and meaningful tasks.
Based on your birth dates and traditional Chinese wedding date selection rules, here are some recommended dates and an analysis of your green-themed wedding concept.
? Auspicious Wedding Dates in 2027
A key rule in traditional Chinese date selection is to avoid dates that clash with the zodiac signs of the bride and groom.
Groom: Born April 18, 1990 – Zodiac: Horse
Bride: Born February 16, 1990 – Zodiac: Horse
Therefore, any date that "clashes with Horse" or "clashes with Rat" (Rat clashes with Horse) should be avoided.
Below are some auspicious dates in 2027 that do NOT clash with your zodiac signs:
Date Day of Week Lunar Date "Appropriate" Items Clashing Zodiac
Feb 6, 2027 Saturday 1st day, 1st month Wedding ceremonies Dog
Feb 14, 2027 Sunday 9th day, 1st month Wedding ceremonies Horse ❌ (Clashes with bride – exclude)
Feb 26, 2027 Friday 21st day, 1st month Wedding ceremonies Horse ❌ (Clashes with bride – exclude)
Mar 6, 2027 Saturday 29th day, 1st month Wedding ceremonies Tiger
Apr 9, 2027 Friday 3rd day, 3rd month Wedding ceremonies Rat ❌ (Clashes with Horse – exclude)
May 7, 2027 Friday 2nd day, 4th month Wedding ceremonies Dragon
May 15, 2027 Saturday 10th day, 4th month Wedding ceremonies Rat ❌ (Clashes with Horse – exclude)
Sep 6, 2027 Monday 6th day, 8th month Wedding, worship, blessings, bed installation Horse ❌ (Clashes with bride – exclude)
Sep 10, 2027 Friday 10th day, 8th month Wedding, worship, consecration, bed installation Dog
Sep 16, 2027 Thursday 16th day, 8th month Wedding, worship, travel, ground breaking Dragon
Oct 21, 2027 Thursday 22nd day, 9th month Wedding, engagement, bed installation Rabbit
Dec 27, 2027 Monday 30th day, 11th month Wedding, engagement, moving, bed installation Tiger
Important Notes:
Plan ahead: There are many good dates in 2027. Consider venue availability, vendor schedules, and guest attendance as you narrow down your choice.
Auspicious times: Within each auspicious date, specific hourly times for key rituals (e.g., picking up the bride, entering the home, exchanging rings) are also important. This often requires your exact birth hours for more precise calculation by a professional.
Professional consultation: The above list is based on general rules. For a truly personalized date, you may consult a professional fortune-teller or use reliable Chinese calendar software for a more detailed compatibility analysis.
? Wedding Color Scheme Advice
Regarding your idea of using different shades of green (olive green, sage green, moss green) – here's an analysis from both traditional Chinese aesthetics and a Five Elements perspective.
1. ? Green Theme: Very Suitable, Symbolizes Prosperity and Good Fortune
Both of you were born in 1990 (Year of the Horse). In the Na Yin (Five Element) system, the 1990 Horse corresponds to "Roadside Earth" (五行属路旁土).
In the Five Elements cycle, Wood (green) can restrain Earth, but also nourish it when properly balanced. A green theme, representing Wood, can bring vibrant, flourishing energy to your Earth element – a very positive sign.
Moreover, 2027 is the Ding Wei (Fire Goat) year. The Wood element (your green colors) generates Fire – meaning your wedding theme would symbolically fuel the Fire energy of the year, adding warmth, joy, and good fortune. This is considered extremely auspicious.
2. ✨ Recommended Color Pairings: Introduce Fire and Earth Elements
To balance the Five Elements and create a sophisticated palette, consider adding small accents of colors representing Fire and Earth to your green base.
Add Fire (Red / Orange tones) – Represents joy, passion, and traditional Chinese wedding blessings. A touch of red can instantly warm up a cool green palette.
Ideas: Brick-red or coral-orange bridesmaid bouquets; burgundy groom/groomsmen boutonnieres or ties; tangerine or persimmon accents on dessert table.
Add Earth (Beige / Yellow-brown tones) – These are your "natal" colors. They ground the composition, add warmth, and bring a sense of stability and elegance.
Ideas: Rattan or raw wood tableware; cream or latte-colored invitation cardstock with green botanical prints; jute or linen aisle runners.
Recommended Palette Combinations:
Olive Green + Burgundy + Cream – Vintage and elegant. Ideal for fall/winter weddings.
Sage Green + Terracotta / Burnt Orange + Natural Wood – Soft, lively, and cheerful. Perfect for spring/summer outdoor weddings.
Forest Green + Gold + Pure White – Classic, luxurious, and formal. Great for indoor banquet hall weddings.
Wishing you both a joyful wedding planning journey and a lifetime of happiness in 2027 and beyond!
