Shifting/Moving dates and Stay into dates

Hi,
i will be shifting my main furniture on 1 of the day in Dec and intend to officially stay over a few date later.
Do i shift in on a auspicious day or stay over 1st night on auspicious day?
or it is recommended to have both on auspicious day?
