Is Fenghuang and Rooster in chinese zodiac the same?

|

Hello, (I am sorry for my English) I read somewhere that the year of the Rooster is also referred to as the year of the Chinese Phoenix. I would like to know whether it is true information or if there are any similarities between these two zodiac signs? Thank you so much for your answer. Ally

Someone once told me that it didn't matter if I said the year of the rooster or "the year of the phoenix". I have never seen a mention that this should be true. Could you please answer me? Thank you.

Dragon and Phoenixe are a good match in Chinese culture. Because there is dragon and no phoenix in the twelve zodiac, people replace the chicken in the twelve zodiac signs with phoenix, as they have many similarities. So the Year of the Rooster is also called the Year of Phoenix.
