Sitting or Facing Directions

|

Hi, first of all, thanks for answering my previous question. Now I would like to ask about the Lucky & Wealth Direction towards the bottom of the chart. Is it the direction for sitting, facing or for my direction based on my birth date & year? And will the color of the clothes I wear affect it?

Hello! Thank you for your excellent follow-up question. It gets to the heart of how to practically apply the wisdom of a Feng Shui or Astrology chart. To answer your question directly: The Lucky & Wealth Direction listed at the bottom of a chart is generally the Facing direction. Here is a breakdown of what that means, how to use it, and the role of colors. 1. Understanding "Facing" vs. "Sitting" In classical Feng Shui and many systems of divination, every home, office, or person has two key orientations: The Facing Direction: This is the direction you look towards. It represents the future, your external life, opportunities, and the "Yang" (active) energy. The Facing direction is what "brings things in," including wealth and good fortune. The Sitting Direction: This is the direction your back faces (opposite the Facing). It represents stability, history, your internal self, and the "Yin" (passive) energy. Therefore, your Lucky & Wealth Direction is meant to be a Facing Direction. The idea is that you want to physically face this direction during important activities to "receive" the beneficial energy (Qi) coming from that auspicious compass point. 2. How to Use Your Lucky & Wealth Direction This direction is a powerful tool based on your personal energy (derived from your birth date and year). You can activate it in your daily life in several ways: At Work: Face this direction when sitting at your desk, working on a computer, or brainstorming new ideas. If your desk cannot be moved, you can sit so that you are looking in that direction during important meetings or negotiations. At Home: When you are eating a meal, if possible, try to sit in a seat that faces your Lucky Direction. This is particularly good for "digesting" wealth opportunities. Sleeping: While sleeping, your head is ideally pointed towards your Lucky Direction. This aligns your personal energy with the universal energy while you rest, which is considered highly beneficial for long-term luck. Important Events: When making important phone calls, signing contracts, or even giving a presentation, try to orient yourself to face this direction. 3. The Role of Colors in Clothing This is an excellent question, and the answer is yes, absolutely! The colors you wear can significantly affect the energy. Think of it this way: The Direction is like a highway that brings the energy to you. The Color is like the vehicle or the specific type of fuel for that energy. By wearing the colors associated with your Lucky Direction's element, you enhance the "signal" and make yourself more receptive. You can find this information in the Five Elements theory. For example, using a simplified version of the Luo Shu grid and elements: East (Wealth): Element is Wood. Wear GREEN or BROWN. Southeast (Wealth): Element is Wood. Wear GREEN or BROWN. South (Fame/Wealth): Element is Fire. Wear RED, PURPLE, or ORANGE. Southwest (Relationships/Wealth): Element is Earth. Wear YELLOW, BEIGE, or EARTH TONES. West (Children/Creativity/Wealth): Element is Metal. Wear WHITE, GOLD, SILVER, or GREY. Northwest (Mentors/Wealth): Element is Metal. Wear WHITE, GOLD, SILVER, or GREY. North (Career/Wealth): Element is Water. Wear BLACK or DARK BLUE. Northeast (Education/Wealth): Element is Earth. Wear YELLOW, BEIGE, or BROWN. Practical Tip: If your Lucky Direction is, say, South, and you have an important meeting regarding a new job or investment, wear a red tie, a purple scarf, or an orange shirt to amplify the energy of that direction. Summary Direction: The Lucky & Wealth Direction is your Facing Direction. Use it to look towards opportunities. Color: Yes, wearing the colors associated with that direction's element will help tune your personal energy to the universal wealth energy, making the direction more effective.
