Key opens all doors

Standing at the bottom of a flight of stairs with a key. No indication of which door the key will open. I climb the stairs and at the top is a door and there is a hallway on either side of the stairs that has 5 or 6 doors. I begin with the door at the top of the stairs. I put the key in the lock and turn it and all of the doors on both sides of the stairs swing open.
