Renovating in SW in 2019

Hi,
We need to re-shape our living room this year (which sits partially on S, SW and W) and our kitchen (90% sits on N and rest of it is in NE).Because of the 5 star in SW I do not know which is "the best" period to renovate the living room (it should take no more than 3-4 days, but we need to replace windows).As for the kitchen which is the best period?

The carpet has to be present only during renovation on the specific area (SW),or we should keep it all year?
