Regarding the inconsistencies in the predictions from the Qing Dynasty birth chart, and whether the specific time period you're concerned about is suitable for conceiving a boy, we'll explain in detail below.
Why are the predictions different?
It's actually quite common for your predictions to differ from your friends'. This is mainly because there are many versions of the Qing Dynasty birth chart circulating online, with inconsistent calculation rules, especially in the calculation of age and month.
Specifically, there are several main reasons:
Too many versions: It's said that there are at least 20 different versions of the Qing Dynasty birth chart circulating online. These charts have been passed down for hundreds of years, and they may no longer be the original versions; it's normal for the data to have been modified.
Age calculation method: This is the most crucial point. Although it's said to use "nominal age," there are subtle differences in the specific calculation method. For example, some people simply calculate it as "this year - birth year + 1," but a more rigorous method is that nominal age only increases by one year after the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year), which leads to different calculation results.
Defining the Pregnancy Month: The Chinese Pregnancy Chart requires the use of the lunar month of conception, specifically the lunar month of the day ovulation occurred. However, many people easily confuse this with the month of their last menstrual period, or their conversion between the lunar and Gregorian calendars is inaccurate, leading to the selection of the wrong month.
Therefore, the situation you and your friends are experiencing is very common. Faced with so many "versions," you can't even find a universally accepted "standard answer" for reference.
What about "March 19th to April 16th"?
According to the 2026 Chinese Pregnancy Chart information, this period corresponds to the second lunar month (approximately March 18th to April 15th) and the third lunar month (starting from April 16th).
For example, if you were born in 1994, your age in 2026 will be 33 (2026 - 1994 + 1 = 33). Referring to a fragment of the 2026 Chinese Gender Prediction Chart:
Age (in Chinese reckoning) Lunar February Lunar March
33 years old Female Male
Predicted Result:
If you conceived in Lunar February (March 18th - April 15th), the result is more likely to be a girl.
If you conceived in Lunar March (starting April 16th), the result is more likely to be a boy.
As you can see, even within the same prediction system, your target time period falls right on the "boundary" of the predicted result, further illustrating the randomness of this prediction.
Conclusion and More Important Matters
Based on the above information, my advice is:
Stop worrying about "which version is the most accurate." Multiple doctors from top-tier hospitals and authoritative media outlets have clearly stated that the Chinese Gender Prediction Chart has no scientific basis; its accuracy is like flipping a coin—only 50%, purely accidental. Therefore, any version's result should only be considered entertainment and not taken seriously.
The sex of a child is determined by science, not by a chart. A baby's sex is determined at the moment of fertilization by the sex chromosome (X or Y) carried by the sperm; this cannot be artificially chosen based on the month of conception.
Therefore, instead of being confused by a scientifically unfounded chart, it's better to relax. The most important thing is that you and your baby are healthy and safe. Let this anticipation transform into love for your baby; whether it's a boy or a girl, they are the most precious gift. Wishing you and your friends a smooth and healthy arrival of your adorable baby!
